Worried?

I’ve got stuff on my mind this week and unfortunately have found myself worrying, so much so that I’ve found myself feeling agitated and having an upset stomach.  Where do we go when our mind is troubled?  To God’s word!  His word is soothing to our soul and our bodies!
Because of the ill effects of worry, Jesus tells us not to worry about those needs that God promises to supply.
Worry may (1) damage your health, (2) disrupt your productivity, (3) negatively affect the way you treat others, and (4) reduce your ability to trust God.  How many ill effects of worry are you experiencing?  Here is the difference between worry and genuine concern – Worry immobilizes, but concern moves you into action.
Seven Reasons Not To Worry:
Matthew 6:25 ……… The same God who created life in you can be trusted with the details of your life.
6:26 ………. Worrying about the future hampers your efforts for today.
6:27 ………. Worrying is more harmful than helpful.
6:28-30 ………. God does not ignore those who depend on him.
6:31, 32 ………. Worrying shows a lack of faith in and understanding of God.
6:33 ……….  Worrying keeps us from real challenges God wants us to pursue.
6:34 ……….  Living one day at a time keeps us from being consumed with worry.

When the answer is, WAIT!

I think it’s got the be one of the hardest things we do is to wait.  When you are in a miserable situation the last thing you want to do it WAIT!  Do you ever ask yourself, “Why oh why is this taking so long!?!?”.
Everyone at some point in life will wait, no one is immune!
But alas God is all-knowing and sometimes, dare I say it…..Waiting is good!   Don’t throw any rocks at me but it’s true.   Here’s something T.D. Jakes said that I  think makes a lot of sense.

“Isn’t it funny how something that will later be a blessing can be a curse if you get it too soon.”Bishop TD Jakes

Sometimes we aren’t mature enough for the blessing/or what we are praying for, or someone else involved may not be where they need to be to hurry along the process to our prayers.  I think what it boils down to is that God weaves a beautiful tapestry out of our lives and others.   We all learn, mature and move forward at different speeds (sort of like traffic on the highway), can you imagine trying to synchronize traffic to do the Waltz?  Imagine how God orchestrates our lives with circumstances and other people…no wonder we have to wait!
I encourage you to hang in there, keep the faith and know that God in control at all times and He hasn’t forgotten about you!  Keep on trucking and hold your head up, take it day by day, know that you aren’t alone.
Scriptures on waiting:
Psa. 27:14                                                                                                                                      Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.
Psa. 37:9                                                                                                                                          For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land.
Isaiah 40:31                                                                                                                                 Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
John 14:1-3                                                                                                                                       Let not your heart be troubled. You are trusting God, now trust in Me. There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so you can always be with Me where I am. If this weren’t so, I would tell you plainly.
Deuteronomy 31:6                                                                                                                                Be strong! Be courageous! Do not be afraid of them! For the Lord your God will be with you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you.
Isaiah 41:10                                                                                                                                        Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with My victorious right hand.
