Oops! Did I say that?

I have to say besides turning to God for any and everything, the next most important life  lesson is to Think before you speak!
How many times do we open our mouths to have words fall out with no consideration for the consequences!  We let our tongue get ahead of our mind!
A good friend and I were talking about the art of listening the other night.  It’s so very frustrating to talk to someone that constantly interrupts or what about about harsh hurtful words that are said, or perhaps dare we bring up the dreaded GOSSIPING!  Choose wisely my friends…and let us think before we speak.  Maybe we can’t all say the perfect thing at the perfect time but we can try, we are all a work in progress.
Proverbs 18:13
He who answers before listening— that is his folly and his shame.
Proverbs 17:28
Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.
Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Proverbs 16:21
The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words promote instruction
Proverbs 16:27-28
A scoundrel plots evil, and his speech is like a scorching fire. A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.
Proverbs 17:4
A wicked man listens to evil lips; a liar pays attention to a malicious tongue.
Proverbs 17:20
A man of perverse heart does not prosper; he whose tongue is deceitful falls into trouble.
Psalm 19:14
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Psalm 34:12-13
Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.
Psalm 37:30
The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just.
Psalm 39:1
I said, “I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth as long as the wicked are in my presence.”
Psalm 55:21
His speech is smooth as butter, yet war is in his heart; his words are more soothing than oil, yet they are drawn swords.
Proverbs 11:12-13
A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue. A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.
Proverbs 12:6
The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.
Proverbs 12:22
The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful.
